LED (Light Emitting Diode) is actually a semiconductor lighting. It works by recombining electrons along with electron holes within the device releasing energy such as photons (intense lighting). Early LEDs gave off traffic signal along with low intensity but as the innovation progressed, they provided several colors of light with high magnitude. As an example red, blue, green yellow as well as orange.
